In the case of domestic work (non-profit service provider), the following requirements must be met:

  • Have worked exclusively as a domestic employee for a minimum period of 15 months in the last 24 months prior to the waiver date that gave rise to the application for unemployment insurance;
  • Have at least 15 FGTS payments as a domestic employee;
  • Be enrolled as an Individual Social Security Taxpayer and have at least 15 contributions to the INSS.

To check the unemployment insurance balance online, have your PIS number (without points and no hyphen) and the internet password in hand. If you do not have a registered password to access Caixa’s website, just click on “register password”.

How to calculate unemployment insurance?

When calculating the value of the unemployment insurance installments, the average of the last three salaries (gross value) is considered, no matter how long you have worked. Add the last three salaries and divide by 3. Now, see the table below (refers to the year 2017) to find out how much unemployment insurance you will receive:

The minimum amount of the unemployment insurance installment is equivalent to the minimum wage, which in 2017 is R $ 937.00.

The first step in entering unemployment insurance is to schedule the application directly on the website of the Ministry of Labor and Employment in the Scheduled Care System.

  1. Select your state.
  2. Select your county.
  3. Select the type of care: Entry into Unemployment Insurance.

The second step is to attend the FSS Bank to deliver the necessary documents on the date informed by the Ministry of Labor.

  • Identification document (RG) and CPF; may submit the CNH (new model), within the validity period;
  • Work and Social Security Portfolio (CTPS);
  • Proof of enrollment in PIS / PASEP;

  • Term of Termination of Employment Contract (TRCT), with code 01 or 03 or 88, duly homologated, for contracts exceeding one year of work;
  • Termination of Employment Termination (accompanying the TRCT) in the termination of employment contract with less than one year of service or Termination of Termination of Employment Agreement (accompanying the TRCT) in terminations of employment contract with more of one year of service;
  • Documents for the collection of deposits in the FGTS or statement of deposits.

Keep an eye on the deadline to apply for your benefit, because if you exceed the time limit to qualify for unemployment insurance , you lose the right to receive it.

  • Formal worker: from the 7th to the 120th day, counted from the date of dispensation.
  • Domestic employee: from the 7th to the 90th day, counted from the date of dispensation.
  • Qualifying bag: during the suspension of the employment contract.
  • Artisanal fisherman: during the closed, within 120 days of the beginning of the prohibition.
  • Worker rescued: up to the 90th day from the date of the redemption.
